Purpose: Using the field of robotics as a platform  it is the mission of MARS to develop and promote increased participation in post-secondary education in WV high school students. We do this through community outreach and development of technical programs designed to instill superior practical life skills.

Method: Our West Virginia Plan focuses on four areas to expand FIRST robotics across the state of West Virginia:

1. Partnerships

2. Sustainability

3. Overcoming Barriers

4. Community Outreach

Not-So-Fun Fact: Only 16% of high school freshmen in WV will go on to complete any form of post-secondary education- a fact that MARS hopes to improve.
